Curtis Eugen Obershaw

Curtis Eugen Obershaw, 78, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 29, 2020. Curtis was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Blackfoot, Idaho to Roy and Edna Parrish Obershaw. Curt was raised in Idaho and Utah with his four brothers Ronald, the twins Boyd and Floyd and Stanley.

After graduating from high school in 1961 Curt stated working for U&I Sugar in Utah while he attended Welltech College, earning a degree as an electrician. Curt transferred to the U&I Sugar plan in Moses Lake in 1968 after serving in Vietnam in the Air Force.

Curt married Christie Warham in August of 1970, making their home in Moses Lake; they welcomed two children, Steven and Shannaue.

Over the years Curt worked at Soil and Crop in Othello and Schwan’s Sales and at the Moses Lake School District up to the time of his retirement.

Curt held numerous church callings of which he was proud to serve and help in any capacity.

Curt and Christie were sealed for time and eternity in the Kennewick temple in August of 2005.

Curt is survived by his wife Christie; son Steven; daughter Shannaue and son-in-law Daniel Blackman; grandchildren Amanda, Nicholas and Maddisson Obershaw and Shane Blackman; and two great-grandchildren Selene Obershaw and Hayden Blackman.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four brothers and numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held March 5 at the Moses Lake Fifth Ward Chapel on Grape Drive at 5 p.m. with internment on Friday, March 6 at 9:45 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake.
