The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, July 1, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for much of the East
Coast and Upper Midwest tomorrow. Thunderstorms in the
Southeast will largely be restricted to the afternoon hours.
In the Upper Midwest, some of the storms could contain
damaging winds or hail. Elsewhere, an afternoon thunderstorm
will be found in portions of the northern Rockies. Much of
the rest of the nation is likely to be dry. In the
Southwest, dry weather will continue to fuel a threat for
fires. Scorching heat is likely in the central and southern
Plains, with many locations topping 100 F. Temperatures
will also be over the century mark in portions of the Desert
Southwest, but that is typical for the first day of July.
