Othello library offering pickup service

| June 30, 2020 8:52 PM

OTHELLO — The Othello branch of the Mid-Columbia Libraries is the first branch in its system to open for curbside pickup. The branch opened on Monday, June 29.

All of the Mid-Columbia Libraries’ branches have been closed since March due to restrictions put in place because of COVID-19. While Othello is open for curbside pickup, the rest of the branches and bookmobile are remaining closed.

To access the curbside pickup option, patrons can put books on hold via the online catalog or over the phone. Patrons will receive a notice when their books are available for pickup. Pickup will take place in the alley next to the library. When patrons arrive, they are to call (509) 546-8020 and open their trunk. A staff member will check out the books to the patron and put them in the open trunk. Patrons are asked to wear masks during the pickup process.

Library items may also be returned using the drive-up returns box, located in the alley. The library will quarantine all returned items for 72 hours.

The Othello library is open for pickup Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To learn more, visit midcolumbialibraries.org/branch/othello. The library is located at 101 E. Main St. in Othello.
