Elsie Leah Harper

Elsie Leah Harper, 94, of Wenatchee, a former longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in Wenatchee.
Elsie was born on Sept. 28, 1925, at Pierre, South Dakota, to Ralph and Vina Leah (Leafgreen) Wooldridge. She later moved with her family to Portland, Oregon, where she graduated from the Parkrose High School. She met and was later married to Carol Harper Sr.
After making their home in Moses Lake, Elsie later starting working in the school district, then became the head cook at Chief Moses Junior High School. She worked at the school for many years before retiring.
Elsie was quite active in the Methodist churches and senior centers of Moses Lake and Wenatchee. She also enjoyed playing golf at the Moses Lake Golf and Country Club while living in Moses Lake. Elsie was very proud of her family and loved the times she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carol Harper Sr. in 1983 and continued to make her home in Moses Lake until she moved to Wenatchee to be nearer to her daughter.
Elsie is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Diane and Ted Conrad of East Wenatchee, one daughter-in-law Judy Harper of Kennewick, Washington, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carol Harper Sr., her son Carol Harper III and her sister Beverly Jorgens.
She will be placed next to her husband in Pioneer Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moses Lake on Aug. 8, 2020, at 11 a.m. The family invites you to visit Elsie’s online tribute at HeritageMemorialChapel.com to leave a memory/condolence.
