Othello man dies after two-vehicle accident

OTHELLO - Felix Rodriguez Martinez, 74, of Othello, has died of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident June 20 outside Othello, Washington State Patrol announced Friday.

Three other Othello residents were involved in the accident, and two were injured.

Rodriguez Martinez was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass eastbound on Cunningham Road about 4 p.m., June 26, when he failed to yield the right of way, according to WSP. Marco Pena, 48, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on state Route 17 when his vehicle struck Rodriguez Martinez’s vehicle.

Pena was not injured. A passenger in the vehicle, Nirma Pena, 48, was taken to the hospital in Othello, according to WSP.

A passenger in the Oldsmobile, Rosalva Pelayo Gonzalez, 68, was also taken to the Othello hospital.

All four persons wore seat belts.
