NATIONAL SUMMARY

Humid, sticky air will encompass much of the South tomorrow,

providing fuel for showers and a few heavier thunderstorms

to develop from Texas to Georgia. Localized flash flooding

can occur as a result of the strongest storms. Farther

north, the Great Lakes and Northeast will be pestered by

scattered showers and thunderstorms, while less humid

conditions return to the East Coast. Aside from a few

afternoon thunderstorms in the northern Rockies, a majority

of the West will experience another dry day. For many

locations, heat building across the West will reach its peak

tomorrow. Heat can reach dangerous levels during the

afternoon across the valleys of California.
