Moses Lake man dies after collision on Route 17
GRANT COUNTY — A Moses Lake man died after a two-vehicle collision Friday, according to Washington State Patrol.
Delbert Chase, 84, of Moses Lake, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when he struck a 1996 Peterbilt 379 driven by Trevor Renstrom, 27, of Garfield. Chase’s vehicle was stopped for traffic while headed westbound on Road 2 Southeast at state Route 17; Renstrom was traveling northbound on state Route 17, approaching Road 2 Southeast. Chase failed to yield the right of way to Renstrom, according to WSP, and struck the middle of the Renstrom’s semi in the northbound lane.
Chase was transported to Samaritan Hospital before dying. Jacquelyn Chase, 82, of Moses Lake, was a passenger in the Silverado and was transported to Samaritan Hospital for her injuries. Renstrom was not injured.
