MOSES LAKE — Grant County Health District announced Thursday that it had received several reports of blue-green algae in Moses Lake in the past two days.
Although sampling had not been done to confirm the presence of microcystin toxins, the health district said, sampling in previous years indicates it is likely that toxins are present.
The health district recommends that people do not swim or water ski in areas of scum, do not drink lake water, keep pets and livestock away, clean fish well and discard guts and avoid areas of scum when boating.
Sampling test results are expected by the end of next week.
