Mattawa summer clean up next weekend

MATTAWA — City of Mattawa residents will be able to participate in summer cleanup Friday through Sunday, June 26 through 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The cleanup event will take place at the Mattawa Water Tower, 710 First St.

Items to be accepted will include yard waste, appliances and furniture. Mattawa Tire Center will be on hand for anyone needing to dispose of old tires. There will be a tire disposal fee of $3 per tire.

Those wishing to participate must be Mattawa residents and must show proof of residency. A recent utility bill or valid ID, each with a Mattawa address, will be accepted.

Some restrictions may apply. No trailers will be allowed. Residents are only allowed two trips during the event.

The Mattawa summer cleanup event helps residents stay in compliance with city code that states the residences must be free from visible nuisance.
