Manuel C. Olvera

| June 16, 2020 8:11 PM

Manuel was born on Sept. 18, 1955, in Stanton, Texas. He passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020, in Spokane, Washington. Manuel passed away at the age of 64 years old.

Manuel was born to Dionisio and Alicia Olvera; he was second to the youngest of 14 children. Manuel married Rosalie Valdez on Sept. 8, 1973, in Othello’s Sacred Heart Church. Together they had three sons Isacc, Adam and David and later adopted their only daughter Tiffany. Together, Manuel and Rosie raised their family in Othello, Washington.

Manuel was a family man; he took this role seriously. He worked as a mechanic his entire career in Othello. After he retired he moved to Weiser, Idaho, for a few years before moving to Spokane to be closer to his boys.

Manuel enjoyed the outdoors; whether he was camping, fishing or hunting he considered this a special time with his family and friends. He also coached all three of his boys’ little league teams and played on a softball team himself. Manuel loved going to Mexican dances and having barbecues for his family and friends.

Manuel is survived by his boys and daughter — Isacc in Pasco, Adam and Shelly in Spokane, David in Pasco and Tiffany in Moses Lake. He had eight grandchildren Lavita, Michael, Gabriel, Michael (Jr.), Marcus, Mason, Samantha and Tommi and one great-granddaughter Alice at the time of his death, as well as three siblings and extended family in Idaho.

Manuel is preceded in death by the mother of his children Rosie Valdez Olvera in February 2019, his parents, 10 of his brothers and sisters and numerous family members. There is no doubt Manuel was welcomed home by family that loved him. Manuel will be greatly missed and always remembered by all who loved him.
