WALLA WALLA — Ephrata graduate Zac Berryman will have an opportunity to return to the baseball field after the COVID-19 outbreak shortened his sophomore season with Walla Walla Community College.

Walla Walla announced on the Northwest Athletic Conference’s social media channels that eight of its players would be moving on to play at the university level; Berryman, an infielder, is headed to Central Washington University.

Due to the pandemic, Berryman only had a chance to appear in eight games as a sophomore. He made the most of his opportunity with a .321 batting average, four RBIs, 11 runs scored and five stolen bases. The Warriors held an even 4-4 record before the season was canceled.

Berryman posted a solid freshman season in 2018-19 with an average of .345, three home runs, 18 RBIs, 30 runs scored and three stolen bases.

Central was 6-12 overall and 3-5 in league play before the rest of the games were canceled.
