Letter: Semi ban is unreasonable

| June 10, 2020 11:37 PM

I would like to let people and especially truckers know what happened this last weekend. I have lived in my dad’s home since last August. No one had complained to the police about loud music or anything else until last weekend when my son-in-law was home with his semi for a couple of days. Then we had a Soap Lake cop show up telling him that his semi cannot be parked in our own yard while he’s home.

Now he will be home even less than he has been since he now has to park his truck in Pasco and find a ride home.

You need to think about this. If it weren’t for the truckers who are spending their time on the road to bring you such things that have been in short supply recently where would you be? This man has spent two to three months at a time away from family so you could have the things you want and need.

Soap Lake’s ban of trucks in town is unreasonable. This isn’t Seattle. There’s more than one trucker in this town.

This cop also complained about loud music. We don’t know which neighbor has complained, but they need to think about it.
