Two taken to hospitals after collision

ROYAL CITY — Two drivers, both from Othello, were taken to hospitals after their vehicles collided west of Royal City on Monday night.

German Farias Acevedo, 29, was driving a Nissan Altima east on state Route 26 at about 10 p.m. when his car crossed the centerline and hit a Nissan Altima driven by Samantha Valenciano, 20, of Othello, according to Washington State Patrol.

Farias Acevedo was flown to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. Valenciano was transported by ambulance to Othello Community Hospital.

Both vehicles were totaled. The cause of the accident was under investigation.
