Water line replacement continues on Loop Drive
MOSES LAKE — Work on new water pipe along Valley Road and Loop Drive is expected to continue through July. The project was tentatively scheduled for completion in early July, but the date has been pushed back to mid- to late July.
Construction workers were cutting through the pavement at Loop Drive and North Central Drive on Thursday, to the confusion of some people trying to navigate the intersection. Crews are replacing about 2,000 feet of 8-inch-diameter pipe on Loop Drive and about a mile of 12-inch water line on Valley Road. The aging pipes are being replaced with PVC pipe.
The project is forecast to cost more than $900,000. The contractor is C&R Tractor and Landscaping, of Kelso.
Sections of Loop Road have been closed during construction, and Valley Road has been reduced to one lane. A reopening date for Loop Drive will be announced.
The Loop Drive project will replace aging water lines that have experienced several breaks over the past few years.
