NATIONAL SUMMARY

Thunderstorms will be scattered about the Appalachians and

mid-Atlantic coast tomorrow afternoon. Afternoon

thunderstorms are also expected in parts of the Ohio and

Tennessee valleys. Morning showers will dampen portions of

the northern Great Lakes. Thunderstorms will dot the

landscape in portions of the Mississippi Valley. Farther

west, spotty afternoon thunderstorms will be found in the

Rockies, especially in central and southern areas. A stray

afternoon shower may occur in the Pacific Northwest, but

much of the West will be dry. Most of the East will have

high temperatures in the 80s, with some locations reaching

the lower 90s. The central and southern Plains will be hot,

with temperatures in the 90s and lower 100s. Much of the

Desert Southwest will have high readings over 100 again.
