The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, June 2, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Stray showers and thunderstorms will swing through part of

the Northeast tomorrow, but the day will not be a washout.

Mainly dry, pleasant weather is forecast across the

Southeast, with just a few exceptions. A few showers will

dampen the southern half of the Florida Peninsula, as well

as the central Gulf Coast. Farther west, storms will gather

over Texas as heat builds over the Central states. A storm

system is expected to collide with this building heat,

causing severe weather to fire up over a portion of the

Midwest. Outside of spotty pop-up showers and storms during

the afternoon hours across the highest terrain of the West,

most of the region can expect a dry, sunny day. Intense

heat will continue to grip the Southwestern states.
