MATTAWA — The Mattawa City Council is close to passing park impact fees that will apply to new residential properties.
“Impact fees are only for new construction or major remodel projects,” said Darryl Piercy, Mattawa’s city planner, during a city council meeting on Thursday, July 16. “It is only for residential properties. It has an impact on the parks, not businesses.”
The impact fees collected will be used to improve and upgrade the city’s park. Once passed, the new park impact fees are expected to be $500 per residence. The adoption of the impact fees is expected to take place during the next city council meeting on Thursday, Aug. 6.
