Guest column: Questions about where our country is headed

I have been sitting around today contemplating what all is going on around our world, especially in our country. It could be very stressful considering what we have been facing the past few months. This pandemic and the seeming spread, abortion clinic lawsuit against prayer at their place of business, the push for a socialistic form of government, these are the most stressful for my mind, if I allow it.

I fear I have more questions than answers concerning this pandemic. I question if this isn’t a man-caused plague seeking to cause people to live with fear. People who are living in fear are more inclined to accept living with outside control over their lives. We tend to accept controls assuming they will solve our problem. I wonder if masks are the answer. I see people in masks that suck in when one inhales and push out with exhalation. Are we then inhaling the carbon dioxide still in the mask? I am by no means a scientist but I seem to remember we inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. What will excess carbon dioxide do to our brain cells that depend on oxygen? I wonder if this isn’t part of the plan to push us into a socialistic form of government where we will be totally under the control of a single leader. We are very near to socializing medicine. Under full socialization of medicine a person of my age and health condition would be prescribed euthanasia. One might call abortion a form of socialized medicine where the fetus is killed and torn out and body parts have been sold. Our government has approved the killing of the unborn.

The church groups who have organized and are praying to seek an answer to this problem are deserving of our praise. It seems as though a dog has a better chance of being adopted than a human child. Socializing our government is the last thing we need for the United States of America. America was formed as one nation under God with liberty and justice for all. Our democratic government is designed to be of the people, by the people and for the people. Socialism is of the government, by the government, for the government. United we stand, divided we fall. Our local ministerial association is working to bring unity through faith into our community and would love to have any leaders not in the association bring their helpful ideas and join.
