Coronavirus: 59 new cases reported over weekend
GRANT COUNTY — Grant County Health District said Monday that 59 new cases of the coronavirus reported had been in Grant County since Friday evening.
There were 21 new cases reported in Moses Lake, 14 in the Mattawa area, seven in the Quincy area, five each in Warden and Ephrata, three in Royal City, two in the rural Grant County area near Othello and one in the Grand Coulee area.
“There is widespread community spread in Grant County,” the health district wrote in its daily update. “It is not limited to one employer, community or household.”
The district again urged local residents to practice good hygiene and social distancing, as well as wear a face mask while out in public.
The weekend update brings the total number of cases since the pandemic began to 990. Six people sickened with COVID-19 are currently hospitalized, according to the health district, while 464 people who previously tested positive have recovered in the last 28 days.
There have been 273 cases reported in Moses Lake, 236 in the Mattawa area and 226 in the Quincy area.
