Coronavirus: New cases reported

GRANT COUNTY — Grant County Health District reported 30 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Grant County on Friday. However, the district’s total of new cases in cities totaled 36: 10 new cases in Ephrata, eight in the Mattawa area, seven in Moses Lake, six in Quincy, four in Royal City and one in Warden.

Health district officials could not be immediately reached for comment regarding the disparity between city-level case increases and the countywide case increase.

In total, the health district reported that 931 cases of the coronavirus have been reported since the pandemic began. Nine people sickened with the disease are currently hospitalized.

There have been 252 cases reported in Moses Lake, 222 in the Mattawa area and 219 in the Quincy area.
