NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heat and high humidity will lead to the development of
showers and thunderstorms from the Northeast down through
the Appalachians and Tennessee Valley tomorrow.
Thunderstorms will also be found across much of the Florida
Peninsula. Spotty afternoon thunderstorms will occur in the
central and southern Rockies. Late-afternoon thunderstorms
across the Dakotas could turn severe with torrential
downpours, large hail, damaging wind gusts and even a
tornado. Searing heat will plague much of the Plains, with
temperatures over the century mark expected as far north as
portions of South Dakota. The San Joaquin Valley of
California will continue to experience temperatures over 100
F, while the warmest deserts in the Southwest are forecast
to have temperatures above 110.
