NATIONAL SUMMARY

Tropical Rainstorm Fay will bring the potential for flooding

to northern New England tomorrow. Farther west,

thunderstorms capable of producing flash flooding and

damaging winds will erupt over portions of the Ozarks and

back into southeastern Kansas and central Oklahoma. Spotty

thunderstorms will rumble across the Upper Midwest and the

eastern Great Lakes. Thunderstorms are also expected in

Florida. The rest of the nation will generally be dry.

Searing heat will bake the southern Plans and Southwest.

Many locations will be over 100 degrees, with some of the

hottest deserts topping 115. The heat will also extend into

the valleys of Central California and even as far north as

the Treasure Valley of Idaho, where temperatures will also

top the century mark.
