MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake city officials announced Wednesday, July 1, that Surf ‘n Slide water park, in Moses Lake, isn’t opening in early July as hoped.
The pool’s opening has been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the restrictions put in place to combat it. A phased reopening plan was announced in May, and swimming pools will reopen in Phase 3 of that plan. Currently, Grant County is still in Phase 2.
“We hope to be open by the end of July,” said recreation supervisor Tom Los.
If the water park does open, admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pool employees created a video encouraging people to wear masks to help reduce the virus’s spread. It can be viewed at www.cityofml.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=923.
