Darlene Fay Krueger

Darlene Fay Krueger, 65, a resident of Warden, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Dec. 28, 1954, to James Frank and MaryEllen (Folk) Johnson in Pendleton, Oregon.

On Dec. 31, 1977, she met the love of her life, Charles Krueger. They were married on May 20, 1978, but always considered New Year’s Eve as their anniversary. They spent 40 years together in a life filled with love and random barn dances before Charles passed away in 2017.

Darlene is survived by their five children Myron (Rachel) Krueger, Thomas Krueger, Mary (Lloyd) Krueger, Pamela Krueger and Angela Krueger; sisters Billie Rickrode, Mildred (William) Cash, Carol Smith, Marion Perry, MaryEllen (Ron) Gerisch, Donna Elroy and Marsha Heminez and brother John Johnson; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Charles Johnson and James Frank Johnson; sisters Frances Longhorn, Linda Pitts and Sharon Quinn and daughter-in-law Cherae Krueger.

A funeral service is scheduled on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Warden Community Church with a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. Service will be at 11 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Warden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Darlene’s name to Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation.
