AP-Sexual Misconduct-Weinstein, ADVISORY

| January 22, 2020 4:35 AM

EDITORS::

Opening statements are scheduled Wednesday in Harvey Weinstein’s rape and sexual assault trial in New York. The Associated Press will offer coverage in all formats. We will have live video and photo coverage of Weinstein’s arrival at the courthouse, starting at 8:30 a.m. Cameras are not allowed in the courtroom. The AP plans on covering the trial gavel-to-gavel, with daily reports on the court action and selected enterprise as testimony unfolds.

Please note that the judge overseeing the case has set rules that might limit the frequency of story updates while court is in session. The judge has banned journalists from communicating electronically from the courtroom. Seating is limited. Each news organization is only allowed one reporter in the room. There is no overflow room for those unable to get a seat and no method for viewing the proceedings remotely. This could mean that updates can only be filed during breaks in testimony.
