FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine (AP) — A woman died in a house fire in a northern Maine town for the second time in two days, police said Wednesday.

The State Fire Marshal's Office recovered the woman's body from the scene Wednesday morning. Police did not identify her. The fire was reported on Tuesday night.

The home in Fort Fairfield was destroyed. A man who also lived there was away from the house at the time the fire broke out, authorities said.

Fort Fairfield also was the scene of a fatal house fire on Monday. Investigators believe the victim of that fire was Dawn Findlen, 90, who lived in the home alone.
