STITT-SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT

OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma's governor wants the state's school superintendent to be appointed rather than elected, which would give the governor more power over public education. Gov. Kevin Stitt did not specify if he wanted to appoint the position, or if he wanted the state Board of Education to make the decision

DEATH ROW INMATE-APPEAL-OKLAHOMA

OKLAHOMA CITY — The U.S. Supreme Court has denied the appeal of an Oklahoma death row inmate. The Oklahoman first reported that the high court on Monday denied without comment the appeal of 64-year-old Carlos Cuesta-Rodriguez. Cuesta-Rodriguez was convicted and sentenced to death for the fatal shooting in 2003 of his common-law wife, Olimpia Cardina Fisher. AP Photo.
