The Nation's Weather for Friday, February 21, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The storm system that is expected to bring accumulating snow
to portions of the Carolinas will track off the Atlantic
Coast tomorrow. In the wake of the system, high pressure
will dominate the weather pattern over most of the country.
Cold air will spill southward from Canada, resulting in
below-average temperatures across the Northeast, Midwest and
much of the South. Another area of high pressure over the
Intermountain West will promote settled conditions over the
region. Clouds are expected to streak over much of the
Southwest as a storm system slowly tracks toward the
California coast. A few showers followed by a steadier rain
will develop across the region late in the day and through
the overnight hours.
