SOAP LAKE — Soap Lake residents are being invited to get their first look at the plan to remodel Smokiam Park at 1 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Rise Academy, 120 East Main Street.

City officials worked on the park plan for about two years, the press release said, with the help of city engineers Grey and Osborne and landscape architect Robert Droll.

Students from Rise Academy will be at the meeting “as an opportunity for them to get a glimpse of how civic projects get started,” according to a press release from the city. Rise Academy, formerly Smokiam Alternative School, is a Learning Through Interests school.

People who have questions about the meeting or the park plan can call City Hall, 509-246-1211.
