Truck crashes into Grand Coulee building
Condition of driver unknown
GRAND COULEE — An unidentified man was airlifted for medical care after the truck he was driving ran off the road and crashed into a building in downtown Grand Coulee. The accident occurred just after noon Thursday.
The truck ran into a building at 630 Grand Coulee Ave., near the intersection of West Grand Coulee Avenue and the Bridgeport Highway. Trooper John Bryant of the Washington State Patrol said officials are not yet releasing the name of the driver. His condition is unknown, Bryant said.
A passenger car also was involved in the accident, Bryant said. It “was struck, wrapped around a pole and burst into flames,” he said.
The truck driver had to be extricated from his vehicle, Bryant said, and was transported by LifeFlight. The truck’s cargo, a load of apples, was scattered along the road.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
