MOSES LAKE — A 17-year-old was arrested on charges of first-degree assault early Sunday morning after reportedly pointing a gun out of the window of a car he was driving, according to police.

The suspect, who was not identified due to his age, reportedly pulled up next to a vehicle in the area of state Route 17 and East Nelson Road, lowered his passenger-side window and pointed a gun at the other car. No shots were fired, and the suspect drove away.

There were reportedly two other people in the suspect’s vehicle.

A juvenile suspect was located around 2:15 a.m. Sunday at the 3000 block of West Broadway Avenue and booked into custody. Marijuana was reportedly observed in the vehicle, and the car was impounded as evidence pending a search warrant, according to police reports.

Though the weapon used in the incident was not found by police, the suspect reportedly posted a photo of a 9mm pistol to his Snapchat account only 30 minutes before allegedly pointing a similar gun at the victim.

The victim and suspect knew each other prior to the incident, police said, and it was not believed to be random.
