The Nation's Weather for Friday, February 7, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

A storm system will strengthen as it sweeps along the

Northeast coast tomorrow. Wind-swept snow will create

slippery roadway conditions and reduced visibility from part

of the central Appalachians to New York state and New

England. Rain and ice will impact areas closer to the coast.

Gusty winds whipping around the storm can elevate the risk

of damage where the ground is saturated or snow and ice are

clinging to trees and power lines. A few snow showers will

occur across the southern Appalachians as cold, blustery

weather rushes into the Southeastern states. A few snow

showers or flurries will fly across the Midwest, while heavy

snow continues to pummel the northern and central Rockies.

Some rain is forecast to dampen western Washington.
