_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
An expansive storm system will bring a wide array of
disruptive weather to the eastern-third of the country
tomorrow. Soaking rain is forecast to elevate the risk of
flash and urban flooding from the Southeast to the upper
mid-Atlantic coast. Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds
and the potential for isolated tornadoes can erupt from the
Carolinas to the Florida Panhandle. Farther north, a swath
of snow and ice will extend from the Great Lakes to New York
state and New England, leading to slippery conditions on the
roadways. Flurries will sweep through the Midwest, while a
steady snow targets the Rockies. Rain will soak western
Washington as milder air surges into the Southwest and
southern Plains.
