April 2, 1929 – December 18, 2020

Kenneth M. Wood passed away at his home in Puyallup, Washington, on Dec. 18, 2020, with his wife and son by his side.

Kenneth was born in Hansen, Idaho, on April 2, 1929. In 1950 he moved to Grandview, Washington, where he was employed as a truck driver during farm harvest. During that time, he met his wife Mary and they married on Sept. 9, 1950.

The couple purchased a farm north of Warden, Washington, where they cleared the land of sagebrush and began farming in 1954. In 1963, Kenneth and Mary purchased a farm on the Royal Slope, just above Royal Camp, where they farmed for the next 10 years. In 1973, the couple returned to the Warden area and continued to farm until retiring in 1994.

In 2006, Kenneth and Mary purchased land along the lake in Cascade Valley, Moses Lake. They had a home put in and continued to live there until July of this year when they sold their home and moved to Puyallup, Washington, to live nearer to their family.

Kenneth loved to fish, metal detect, go boating with friends and especially have coffee with other farmers at the Corral Café in Warden. He and his wife enjoyed many winters in Arizona, where his favorite hobby was metal detecting.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Mary; his son Kenneth J. Wood (Ellen); five grandchildren Veronica George (Chris), Ramon Wood, Jimmy Wood, Kenneth J. Wood, Jr. and CharLee Wood; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In his honor, Kenneth’s family plans to host a Celebration of Life memorial this coming spring 2021, in Warden, Washington.
