Darrell Ray Findlay

Darrell Ray Findlay, 72, passed away peacefully at home in Benton City, Washington, on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.

He leaves behind his wife Donna Bowen; his children Raejean (DJ) Hastings and Justin Ackaret; his siblings Ron (Theresa) Findlay, Ken (Micki) Findlay, and Diane (Terry) Finch; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; a nephew; and many friends.

Darrell was born to Richard and Ruth Findlay on April 4, 1948, in Fairfield, Iowa. The family then moved to Arizona and then set their permanent roots down in Moses Lake, Washington.

After graduating from Moses Lake High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 where he served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter door gunner.

Darrell eventually made the Tri-Cities his home, where he was employed by the US Army of Corps of Engineers Company in Pasco, Washington. He was an active member in the Benton/Franklin Sherriff’s Posse for many years and always made time for fishing with his wife.

He is preceded in death by his parents and niece Amber.
