The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, December 9, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As cold air lingers across the Northeast tomorrow, a storm
system poised to sweep in from southeastern Canada will
produce snow showers and flurries. A few flakes may fly as
far south as the upper mid-Atlantic coast. Cool, but dry
conditions are forecast to linger along the southern
Atlantic Seaboard. A broad high pressure system will
contribute to dry, sunny weather and mild conditions by
early December standards from the Southwest to the High
Plains and Mississippi Valley. This mild air is forecast to
reach the Eastern states late in the week. Winds will not be
as gusty across California, but continued dry weather and
localized breezes will keep the fire danger elevated. A
storm system is expected to weaken as it moves inland across
the Northwest, producing light rain and snow.
