The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, December 8, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

The nation will be free of any big weather systems and, for

the most part, precipitation tomorrow. Brisk conditions will

hold firm across the Northeast. Flurries may brush Cape Cod,

Massachusetts, as a storm system heads out to sea, while a

few snowflakes fly in the West Virginia mountains. Chilly

air will extend as far south as Florida, where temperatures

will be 10-15 degrees Fahrenheit below normal despite a

sunny sky. A building area of high pressure is expected to

promote dry, sunny and mild conditions across the Plains

states, with widespread highs in the 60s and 70s. Gusty

winds will linger across Southern California and keep the

fire danger at high levels. The main unsettled spot in the

country will be the Pacific Northwest, where a storm will

bring rain to western Washington and northwestern Oregon.
