NATIONAL SUMMARY

A strengthening storm will bring heavy rain to Rhode Island,

southeastern New York, New Jersey and southeastern

Pennsylvania tomorrow. Some of the rain could cause flooding

on streets and in poor drainage areas. Farther north and

west, rain will change to snow in southern New Hampshire,

and western and central Massachusetts. Precipitation will

remain in the form of snow in western Maine, northern

Vermont and northern New Hampshire, where a significant

accumulation is expected. Elsewhere, flurries and snow

showers are forecast in western and central Pennsylvania,

but little if any accumulation is expected. Gusty winds will

accompany the storm from coastal Maine southward through

eastern North Carolina.
