The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, September 1, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
High pressure will begin to lose its grip on the Northeast
tomorrow, but not before much of the region experiences
another generally dry and cool day. Rain and storms will
continue for the coastal mid-Atlantic, while areas farther
inland have an opportunity to dry out. Scattered storms will
dot the Southeast, but a developing tropical system off the
coast will bring rough seas and an increased risk for rip
currents along the Atlantic coast. Severe storms will
develop over a swath from Texas to Missouri and will
threaten the area with damaging winds and heavy rainfall. A
few heavier storms will also impact the Great Lakes. Other
than a few afternoon storms over portions of Arizona, New
Mexico and Colorado, much of the West will remain dry and
smoky.
