NATIONAL SUMMARY
Hurricane Laura will move inland and bring high winds and
torrential rain with flooding in eastern Texas, western and
central Louisiana and Arkansas tomorrow. Afternoon
thunderstorms with flash flooding and damaging winds are
expected in northern Pennsylvania, New York state, Vermont,
Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Elsewhere,
thunderstorms will rumble through the Dakotas, as well as
the Florida Peninsula. Afternoon thunderstorms will dot the
Rockies, but much of the West will be dry. Heat and humidity
will be the rule in the central and southern Plains. Hot and
humid conditions are also forecast in the Southeast and
along the mid-Atlantic coast. Searing heat and wildfires
will continue to plague portions of the West.
