Sixth coronavirus death in Adams County announced
OTHELLO — An Othello man is the sixth person in Adams County to die from COVID-19 or its complications. The 45-year-old man died Aug. 15 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. His death was announced Aug. 20 by the Adams County Health District.
As of Aug. 24, five people have died due to the coronavirus, and one person has died from coronavirus-related complications. All deaths occurred in a period of just over three weeks, according to a press release from the health district.
Between Aug. 18 and 24, the ACHD reported 63 new cases diagnosed in Adams County. One person was hospitalized.
Othello had 57 of the new cases reported, with six cases in Ritzville. Since the pandemic began Othello has reported 547 cases. Ritzville has reported 24 cases, with four cases in Hatton, three in Lind, one in Benge and one in Washtucna.
Fifty tests were pending, and 3,337 tests had been performed in Adams County since March.
