Othello man arrested on drug possession, delivery
OTHELLO — An Othello man was arrested and charged with three counts of possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver after he was stopped by Othello Police Department officers and his vehicle searched Aug. 11.
Alonzo Chavez, 21, was also charged with money laundering, three counts of delivery of fentanyl, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without required ignition interlock and third-degree driving with a suspended license, according to a statement on OPD social media.
Officers were working on a case involving the sale of suspected counterfeit oxycodone pills that were believed to contain fentanyl, the OPD statement said. Chavez was stopped in the 1800 block of Main Street.
Police officers searched the car and found about $400 in cash, about 60 pills thought to be fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
