NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to drench portions of

the mid-Atlantic and Southeast tomorrow. Some of the storms

could cause flash flooding on the local level from the

Delmarva Peninsula, southward through eastern North

Carolina. Farther west, strong afternoon thunderstorms will

erupt in the central and eastern Dakotas. Elsewhere,

afternoon thunderstorms will dot the southern Four Corners

and the Sierra Nevada, as well as the peninsula of Florida.

Many areas across the Great Lakes and Northeast will have

temperatures in the 80s, with some of the warmest areas in

the lower 90s. Meanwhile, extreme heat will bake Texas, with

most locations away from the Gulf coast over 100. In the

West, temperatures above 110 will be common in the deserts

of Arizona and southeastern California.
