The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, August 12, 2020

_____

NATIONAL SUMMARY

Showers and storms will target a wide swath of land across

the eastern half of the country tomorrow as a broad

disturbance tracks into the mid-South. Locales across the

Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic, Deep South and a majority of the

East Coast can expect wet weather to pop up during the day.

Farther north, dry conditions will prevail across the Great

Lakes and interior Northeast. A separate disturbance

tracking out of the Rockies will spark strong thunderstorms

across the High Plains during the afternoon. Largely dry

conditions are expected to persist across much of the West

once again, with some cities across the Southwest possibly

challenging record-high temperatures. Farther north across

the Northwest, the heat will ease as a weak disturbance

comes ashore.
