ELLENSBURG — HopeSource, a non-profit organization that provides services to low-income households, has a program designed to prevent homelessness due to impacts from the COVID-19 outbreak.

Grant and Adams county residents 18-24 in age are eligible for an Eviction Rent Assistance Program for those who need financial help to remain in their home, the organization announced in a press release.

Through the Washington State Department of Commerce and the federal CARES Act, more than $110,000 will be available for residents of those two counties, HopeSource stated. Among the criteria to qualify for the program, renters must have an income at or below 50 percent of the area median income.

Those who wish to apply for the program can visit www.hopesource.us. Applicants are asked to choose the “Need Help?” button and specify housing/rent assistance on the application, or call 509-707-0179.
