The Nation's Weather for Tuesday, August 11, 2020
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A cold front will continue to slowly sag south and east
through the eastern Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and
mid-Mississippi Valley tomorrow. Along the front, drenching
thunderstorms are expected across the Ohio and
mid-Mississippi River valleys. A few showers and
thunderstorms will make their way into the interior
Northeast, but they are not expected to arrive until the
afternoon. Across the South, typical pop-up showers and
storms are expected to dot the landscape during the
afternoon. Late-day severe storms are expected to erupt in
the central Plains. Due to a continued lack of monsoon
moisture across the West, afternoon shower and thunderstorm
coverage will remain isolated, although it is possible a few
pop up across the Sierra Nevada.
