Coronavirus-related deaths announced in Grant, Adams counties
MOSES LAKE — The 12th coronavirus-related death in Grant County and a fourth coronavirus-related death in Adams County were reported on Friday.
Grant County Health District announced that a Moses Lake man in his 80s was hospitalized at the time he died. The man was a resident of an extended-care facility, which was not identified. He had underlying conditions that put him at higher risk for serious complications from the disease, according to a GCHD press release.
On Friday, 12 people with the coronavirus in Grant County were hospitalized, and 36 new cases were confirmed. The GCHD said two death certificates were being reviewed to see what role, if any, coronavirus played in the deaths. Two people who had been reported as Grant County cases were determined to be residents of other counties and were removed from the Grant County totals.
Adams County Health Department announced the death of a 98-year-old Othello woman. The woman was a resident of Coventry House in Othello.
Adams County has had four deaths caused by coronavirus and one that was coronavirus-related, a health department press release said.
Five new cases were reported in Othello on Friday and one in Ritzville.
