Asia Today: Australian state reports record virus increase

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — Australia’s virus hot spot, Victoria state, announced a record 725 COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths on Wednesday, while businesses in Melbourne prepared to close their shutters as new pandemic restrictions go into effect.
