VIRUS OUTBREAK-TEACHER TRAINING: When the coronavirus forced schools online for longer than anyone could have anticipated in the spring, many teachers muddled through months of trial and error with mixed results as schools lowered expectations and promised students their grades wouldn’t suffer. With virtual learning part of an increasing number of fall reopening plans, districts are under pressure to improve, including making sure classroom teachers know how to reach and teach students from afar.
