Othello puts hold on yard sale permits

| April 28, 2020 11:38 PM

OTHELLO — The city of Othello is not issuing yard sale permits at this time.

“This is only temporary,” said Tania Morelos, Othello city clerk. “The Adams County health officials want to avoid public gatherings that are unnecessary. Yard sales are not currently necessary.”

Holding a yard sale requires a permit. Anyone caught holding a yard sale without a permit can be fined $110 or more.

Not holding yard sales is one of the restrictions mandated by Gov. Jay Inslee due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The health department is responsible for enforcing the restriction. Once the stay-home order has been lifted, the city will once again issue yard sale permits.
